Iran, Kyrgyzstan sign MoU to expand parliamentary ties

TEHRAN, Apr. 24 (MNA) – A memorandum of understanding was signed Monday by Iran’s Parl. Speaker Ali Larijani and his Kyrgyz counterpart Chynybai Tursunbekov on expansion of parliamentary cooperation in various fields.

Under the MoU, the two sides agreed to expand cooperation in various fields including the legislative process, development and research, sharing rules, commission and regulatory activities, administrative infrastructure, electronic Parliament, data exchange technology, and exchanging experiences on green parliament.

It was also decided that the two sides increase the level of relations by encouraging inter-parliamentary relations through formation of parliamentary friendship groups between the two countries’ parliaments, organizing regular delegation exchange through bilateral meetings.

The MoU also obliges the sides to cooperate on promotion of trade and economic relations and creation of necessary conditions for the adoption of relevant legislation in this area.

Mr. Larijani and Mr. Tursunbekov also agreed to give support in fight against extremism and terrorism in the region.
